I have fundraised on 8 or 9 Karuna Appeals over the last 5 years, led 2 Appeals and now am in charge of leading our telephone fundraising campaigns. What excites me about fundraising? Well raising money to use to give away to those who need it has always struck me as a very concrete way to help others. I was intrigued about Karuna Appeals long before I actually plucked up the courage to do one! And the promise of learning how to raise money without needing to flirt or be charming sounded too good to be true! Now I find myself training others in the practice of authenticity and awareness whether that's on the doorstep or over the phone. What I love is that you never know what is going to happen either with the fundraisers I support or the householders I talk with, it's an adventure every time....
